Strategic Statement on Poverty and Deprivation: Analyzing This Social Issue in Light of Islamic Wisdom and Knowledge
Abstract
Nowadays, poverty and deprivation are among the most pressing issues in Iranian society. The social and psychological effects of this issue have led to an increase in social dissatisfaction across the country. Despite the long-standing focus on poverty alleviation and 40 years after the slogan of eradicating deprivation, no valid or acceptable indigenous theory has been presented to address it. Therefore, studying and understanding the issue of poverty and deprivation, offering effective models for reducing poverty and its effects on society, and, consequently, policy-making in this area, is one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
