Examining methods for improving deprived and marginalized areas of the country and providing policy recommendations in this field
Abstract
After the second world war, development has been considered as one of the most significant issues in academic circles and the planning of countries; as in the 1990s, most countries began to reassess their status in this regard. Development-related institutions, using various indicators and drawing on specific models, endeavored to determine the economic and social development levels of countries. However, in many societies, although the economic development “pie” has grown larger, the distribution of wealth has faced more limitations, and not all spaces and social groups have benefited equally from this economic growth. Social and spatial duality is also a product of such a process, leading to phenomena such as marginalization and the creation and reproduction of stagnant areas.
In this article, you will read about:
1.The status of marginalization in the world and Iran
2.The model for revitalizing stagnant areas into productive townships
3.Key considerations in implementing the model for revitalizing stagnant areas
This study was conducted at the Paya Think Tank in collaboration with Ali Mohammad Ebrahimi and Parviz Aghaei in 2022.
