A Study of the Economic Relations Between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, Examining the Barriers and Providing Solutions to Remove the Obstacles in this Field
Abstract
Economic diplomacy is one of the modern conceptual and functional domains that, depending on the necessities dictated by the conditions of countries, imposes certain requirements on their foreign policy. Since economic capability and economic development have become one of the most important components of national power, and fulfilling the necessities arising from it requires interaction with the world and specifically the global economic system, economic diplomacy has attained a significant position in the international relations of countries. Iran, as a country grappling with Western sanctions, faces specific necessities that have placed economic development at the top of the country’s macro-policy priorities. This is a matter that is clearly reflected in the country’s high-level policy documents.
