Iran’s Post War Strategies for Achieving a New Middle Eastern Order

New Middle Eastern Order

Assuming Iran’s victory in this civilizational war, several strategies for realizing the Islamic Republic’s desired scenario in the post-war period are outlined to achieve a New Middle Eastern Order

Transforming Military Achievements into a Sustainable Political and Economic Order for a New Middle Eastern Order

Based on past experiences, it appears that the most significant challenge for Iran in the post-war phase will be converting military achievements into a sustainable political, security, and economic order in the region. Experiences from many wars indicate that victory on the battlefield becomes sustainable only when it translates into new institutional, economic, and geopolitical arrangements.

This policy note presents a set of proposed strategies:

Based on the discussed scenario, in the event of a successful passage through the conflict phase, Iran will simultaneously face both an opportunity and a risk: on one hand, the potential to enhance its regional position and leverage geopolitical capacities, and on the other hand, the danger of economic erosion, the reproduction of threats, and a decrease in internal cohesion.

Iran’s post-war strategy

In general, Iran’s post-war strategy could be based on four main objectives:

  • Stabilizing security and deterrence in the region.
  • Transforming military superiority into sustainable geopolitical achievements.
  • Rebuilding and strengthening the national economy.
  • Shaping a new security and economic order in the region with Iran at its center.

If these strategies are prioritized operationally, a logical sequence could be as follows:

1. Stabilizing security and preventing immediate threats.

2. Managing straits and geopolitical levers.

3. Establishing a regional security order.

4. Rebuilding the economy and recovering financial resources.

5. Developing trade and transit.6. Implementing internal reforms and enhancing social cohesion.

In this framework, Iran can solidify its position as one of the determining powers in the new regional order by relying on its three main advantages: geography, energy, and human capacity.
