This report examines the recent changes and appointments within Iran’s military and security structure, and their impact on command, coordination among the armed forces, and readiness to counter military, intelligence, and cyber threats. The authors argue that these developments go well beyond a simple reshuffling of commanders, pointing instead to a broader shift toward faster decision-making and tighter coordination across the armed forces. The merging of certain structures and the redefinition of responsibilities further reflect an effort to draw on lessons from the recent war and to strengthen alignment between strategic and operational levels. Taken together, the report concludes, these changes signal Iran’s move toward a more cohesive and agile military-security structure capable of responding to a range of threats.
