Resilience Against Foreign Aggression: Deep Tradition of Iranian Resistance

Tradition of Iranian Resistance

By Hamed Vafaei, Professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Tehran

In March 2026, the United States and Israel launched a criminal attack on Iran, a clear violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter, which absolutely prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state. Following this attack, initiated under deceptive and baseless pretexts of targeting military centers, malicious and audacious assaults have been carried out on hospitals, medical facilities, and civilian areas. In one such horrific atrocity, an attack on a primary girls’ school in Minab (southern Iran) resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent young girls. Reports from Iranian officials and sources indicate that nearly 180 child students were killed and many more injured in this savage attack.

These criminal acts have led to the deaths of many defenseless citizens across the country, including children, women, and the elderly. This tragedy starkly reveals the barbarity and disregard for human life among the aggressors.

Iranian Resilience: Unbreakable Spirit Amidst Aggression

In the face of this unjust and criminal aggression against Iran, Iranians – including ordinary citizens and military personnel – have demonstrated exceptional courage, unbreakable endurance, and an iron will to resist. Shops and bakeries are open, and streets are filled with people going about their daily routines. Children play in safer areas. Neighbors help neighbors, the injured are cared for, and traditional and religious communal activities are observed.

This resilience, deeply rooted in the Iranian tradition of resistance against foreign domination, is a powerful symbol of national dignity, moral strength, and the collective pride of Iranians. The people and armed forces of Iran stand united in resistance, once again proving that no level of foreign barbarity can break their will, disrupt their normal lives, or force them to surrender their independence.
