Why was the Night of the 8th of January a Night of War in Tehran?

The night of the 8th of January

War gatherings From a Political point of view

War gatherings had several characteristics which separates it from popular protest

  • The Organization of Small Centers:

The organization of small groups of 50 people, of which 3 to 5 people were armed leaders (unfortunately, the rest of the people in this riotous groups were between 17 and 23 years old).

  • Killing People

According to the confession of the leaders, they should have either shot the security forces or killed more of the same teenagers present in the core of the gathering.

  • Supporting the Armed Leaders

The leaders would leave the crowd after being shot; It is one of the routes whose entry and exit were determined in advance. They also provided logistical support to each other when necessary.

  • Simultaneous Start of Cores

The most important sign of the urban war of the 8th night was that all of the groups started their operations in the same hour with a difference of a few minutes and hit the military and service institutions until they fell and also prevented the Iranian institutions from supporting each other by creating roadblocks.

  • The Midnight Calmness

It was the last sign of the city war on the 8th of January night, that after these groups were hit by the security forces, they retreated and there was no sign of these people from 2 AM onwards, in a city full of chaos, until a few hours before that. Naturally, if these gatherings had arisen from people’s community, these events would have continued.
