Restrictions and conditions for the implementation of the freedom of assembly are explained in the three axes of “permission and notification”, “not disturbing the fundamentals of Islam” and “not carrying weapons”.

By comparing the current and desired situation of these ten axes, two problems and one opportunity have been identified:

The first problem is “economic, social and political dissatisfaction” which is related to the indicators of justice and the social sector of security;

The second problem is “dissatisfaction and cultural incompatibility” which refers to the indicators of spirituality and the cultural dimension of freedom;

And the created opportunity is “maximum national, security and human cohesion” in the society, which monitors the indicators of security, independence, dignity and identity.

What are the Main Reasons and Roots of Protests in Iran?

Also, this research has enumerated the four causes of protests, including:

  1. Social dissatisfaction with governance inefficiency
  2. The cultural identity gap between Islam and secularism and civilizational confrontation and civilizational confrontation and internal hypocrisy
  3. Media disorder, virtual war and celebrity culture;
  4. Security attack and enemy exploitation.

Recommended Strategies to Avoid Future Complaints

  • Solving the problem instead of ignoring the problem
  • Macro and fundamental transformation instead of partial and minor reforms
  •  Focusing on the transformation of reality instead of distorting the narrative and mentality.
